Margaret* is currently living in a transitional shelter for Veterans and anxiously wants to get her life back on track. She currently spends 2 hours a day just communiting one way to her job as a medical assistant. On some days she spends as manys as 2 hours a day waiting in the dark, just to catch the bus. Purchasing groceries and household items are a huge challenge for Margaret as she lives a quarter of the mile from the bus stop and has diffculty transporting her items back to the shelter.
But most importantly Margaret knows that getting a vehicle will allow her to leave the shelter for more permanent housing. Says Margaret, "Since I won't have to save money for a car, I can use it to get my own place."
We are constantly in search of vehicles for individuals "waiting for wheels". If you are interested in donating a vehicle to support Margaret or another applicant please click here.
