Our Automotive Buying Center (ABC), a social enterprise of Wheels of Success, opened in 2009 after we received seed money through a business plan competition award sponsored by the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County. This allowed us to establish a dealership location and purchase several vehicles.

Available on an appointment-only basis, ABC is not a formal car lot, but rather a buying service to assist people with limited funds who do not qualify for our program because they do not work full time or cannot wait for one of our cars. ABC allows them to purchase a reliable vehicle with limited warranties and helps them avoid buying an unreliable vehicle elsewhere that may have no warranty, be unsound mechanically or bear an exorbitant interest rate.

Through our established relationship with Manheim Auto Auction and other reputable dealers, Wheels of Success can make the vehicle purchase and accompany the purchaser to ensure the automobile is reliable and sold at a fair price, avoiding any unnecessary fees.

To date, ABC has sold 140 cars and made 144 repairs, and the proceeds we make from sales are donated to our 501 (c) (3). We are proud to say that ABC has been in the black every year, even through the recent economic downturn.
