TAMPA, FL (December 19, 2013) – AAA Auto Club Group and Wheels of Success will grant the Christmas wish of a local veteran and her family by helping them get back on the road this holiday.
Jamela served with the Army National Guard during Operation Iraqi Freedom, but after returning to the United States she struggled as a single-mother, ending up homeless and in need of support. Jamela found a job as a bus driver with HART in the Bay area, but ironically needs a reliable car to get to work, care for her daughter, and open doors for further career advancement and success.
Jamela is one of 12 working families receiving a car through Wheels of Success’ ’12 Cars of Christmas’ campaign this season. In addition, this is also the twelfth vehicle the organization has presented to a former service member through its Vehicles for Veterans program. The program is designed to assist members of our military with personal transportation to ease their transition into the civilian workforce after serving our country.
AAA Auto Club Group will make the special presentation to Jamela on Thursday, December 19, at 10:00 a.m. at their local headquarters, 1515 N. Westshore Blvd., Tampa, FL 33607.
AAA Auto Club Group is a continuing partner with Wheels of Success, not only providing funding, but a first-year membership for all car recipients and towing of all donated vehicles. Founder and CEO of Wheels of Success, Susan Jacobs, says “It is because of community partners such as these that we can provide as many vehicles as we do, considering our limited funding and staff. We cannot thank our partners enough for their continued support in honoring local veterans.
