Tampa, Florida-- A local organization has given eleven Bay area families a new set of wheels!

"Wheels of Success" is a nonprofit organization that provides transportation solutions for low and moderate-income working individuals.

After losing her home, Honor moved to Florida to start over to make a better life for herself and her three daughters. She was offered a good job with a pharmaceutical company, but it was on the opposite side of town.

Because of the economic downturn, Al lost his job--along with his company car--last February. Married with two daughters, Al was very motivated to find a way to support his family, but his job search was complicated by his lack of reliable transportation.

Mareyame and her 3-year-old son, Cameron, had to start their lives over after Mareyame’s boyfriend was killed last year.

Katie (whose name has been changed in this story to protect her privacy) and her two young children snuck out in the middle of the night and hopped a Greyhound bus to flee from their abuser. She stayed with family until she found a job and a place to call her own. Her employer calls Katie a “role model and an “exemplary employee.”
